CASTLE WARD

Your local councillor – here to help

How can I help?

About Me

I’m Allan Copsey, one of your Castle Ward councillors. I’m here to represent local residents, help with problems involving the council and other public services, and make sure your concerns are heard.I regularly spend time around the ward speaking with residents and seeing issues first-hand. If something is affecting you or your neighbourhood, please get in touch.

Experience I bring to the roleBefore becoming a councillor, I spent more than 30 years working in the public sector, including financial management, business planning and scrutinising how public money is spent.I also have experience as a foster carer and Shared Lives carer, supporting young people and adults in our home. This has given me a very different perspective on the challenges individuals and families can face.I bring both this practical experience and my professional background to my work as a councillor.

Current Ward Issues

I’m currently working on a number of issues raised by residents across Castle Ward. I’ll use this page to provide updates as matters progress.

Tamworth Post Office Services - UpdateFollowing my direct correspondence with Post Office Ltd, I have received confirmation that potential operators have expressed interest in restoring services in both Tamworth town centre and Ventura Park. This is encouraging, but it is important to be clear that no operator, location or reopening date has yet been secured.Dr Anne Parsons’ petition was debated at Full Council on 8 September. Councillors unanimously supported continuing to work urgently with Post Office Ltd to identify suitable, available and accessible town-centre premises.I will continue pressing for clear timescales and a sustainable, accessible service while keeping residents informed as further details become available.Councillor Allan Copsey
